About Flux
FLUX is the family of image generation models from Black Forest Labs, founded by some of the original Stable Diffusion researchers. The lineup includes FLUX.1 schnell for fast generation, FLUX.1 dev for higher quality with non-commercial open weights, FLUX.1 pro available only through the API, and FLUX.1 Kontext for image editing with reference images. The models are known for sharp prompt adherence, realistic faces and hands, strong text rendering and a distinctive aesthetic, and have become the default high-end model in many third-party tools such as Krea, Freepik, Replicate and Mistral's Le Chat. Black Forest Labs sells API access via its BFL Playground and partner platforms, with usage spanning marketing creative, product imagery, design exploration and editing workflows. Recent releases have added video and multi-image conditioning capabilities.
