How we built — and maintain — this catalog
ConsistencyAI is a hand-curated index of 146 AI tools across 27 categories. No paid placements, no affiliate-driven ranking — every entry was selected, reviewed, and written by a human editor. This page lays out how the catalog is sourced, vetted, and kept fresh so visitors (and Google) know exactly what they’re reading.
What we cover
The catalog spans the full AI tooling stack — chat assistants, search and research, writing, image and video generation, voice synthesis, code editors and coding agents, automation platforms, marketing, SEO, sales, and education. We include open-source tools, indie products, and platform giants alongside each other, ranked the same way: by editorial signal and click activity, not by vendor relationships.
Editorial process
Discovery
We monitor vendor launches, GitHub trending, Product Hunt, Hacker News, and direct submissions. A tool gets into the candidate pool when it solves a clear problem and has at least a v1 public release — not a waitlist.
Hands-on review
An editor opens the product and confirms what it does, the pricing tiers and limits on the vendor's actual pricing page, whether there's a real free tier (not just a trial), and whether it includes autonomous-agent capability. Marketing copy is set aside in favor of what's actually shipped.
Writing
Each tool gets a 5-10 sentence description sourced from the vendor's product page, plus 3-5 use cases, 3-5 key features, the full plan lineup with per-plan usage quotas (credits/tokens/minutes), and a category placement. We don't recycle vendor marketing — descriptions are written in our voice.
Verification
Pricing is verified against the vendor's live pricing page before publish. Open-source projects are marked Free and linked to their actual repos. Demo videos are official vendor uploads only — never third-party tutorials.
Independence & conflict of interest
ConsistencyAI does not accept payment for listings, ranking positions, or the “Editor’s pick” badge. We don’t carry affiliate links. The “Visit website” button is a direct, no-tracking link to each vendor’s domain. If we add monetization in the future (sponsored placements, paid premium listings), it will be labelled in the UI and disclosed here.
How fresh is the data?
Pricing pages move constantly. We re-verify pricing for every tool at least once per quarter, and on launch days for major model releases (GPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.). Every tool detail page shows a visible “Last updated” date so you know how recent the data is — if something looks off compared to what you see on the vendor’s site, the vendor’s page is authoritative.
Corrections
See something wrong — a stale price, a missing feature, a tool that’s been acquired or shut down? Send corrections via the submit form with your sources. Every report is hand-reviewed.
Submit it for review — every entry is read by a human editor.
