Best AI image editors & upscalers

Editing is a different job from generating, and the tools split three ways. Generative editing, changing what's in a photo while keeping the subject consistent, is led by Google's Nano Banana. Upscaling and enhancement is where Magnific (hallucinates convincing detail), Topaz Photo AI (desktop, one-time licence) and the free open-source Upscayl compete. And for one-click cleanup, Cleanup.pictures removes unwanted objects while Remove.bg handles backgrounds. Pick by the job: edit, enlarge, or erase.
